Hair Transplantation Surgery FUE Vs. FUT – Follicular Homicide?
Medical hair transplants have been around for about 60 years now. They started using “punch transplants,” which in most cases resulted in what is commonly referred to as “hair plugs” or “the doll’s head look”. Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) has been around for about 20 years and is considered the gold standard in the industry. The plugs have disappeared. However, there is a new technology called follicular unit extraction (FUE). This new procedure is a smaller but mirror image of the old “plug” technique. And people pay more for it.
Type of FUE:
Best FUE Hair Transplant is a type of Best Hair Transplant that is sold to people who suffer from hair loss as the operation that leaves no scar. That is not true. When a surgeon with a scalpel cuts into the human body, there will be a scar. This is a fact. The only problem that comes up for discussion here is what the scar will look like. The truth is that the patient will be left with a large number of off-white and / or red polka-dotted scars. These scars will be spread over the entire donor area.
The donor area is where the surgeon removes the hair follicles that are genetically programmed to never fall out. An FUT operation will create a fine linear scar from the back of one ear to the other in the same donor area. The scar will be extremely thin and fine if done properly by an experienced hair transplant surgeon. However, there are a small number of hair doctors who use scare tactics. They show patients very badly failed examples of the linear scar.
This creates an opportunity for the frightened patient to agree to another style hair transplant, (FUE). And the costs are extremely higher. At this point, the patient, who has already been traumatized by hair loss, is open to anything that works and leaves no scars. The patient does not know that there are other problems that make the FUE procedure more difficult. The only thing that occupies the patient is a broad ugly scar that they don’t want.
The FUE procedure is even more labor-intensive than the FUT. The procedure sometimes takes days, not hours, to complete. The claim is that there is less pain. The truth is that there is not much pain in either procedure because local anesthesia is used. Unlike the very first injection, the patient does not feel any discomfort. This is another scare tactic that doctors will use.
Patients always ask if it is painful. They will insist that there is less pain in the FUE procedure. Again, this is simply not true. An important issue to be addressed with the FUE procedure is follicular murder. This is a term used when hair follicles are destroyed. They can be destroyed just like an inexperienced member of the technical team cuts them in half. Or, in this case, the doctor traverses the follicle before it is even removed from the donor area.
Instrument of Scalp
You see the instrument that cuts into the scalp and removes the follicle, cannot determine the angle or bend in the follicle in the head. You should be superman with x ray vision for that. That is why this type of hair surgery is very dangerous for the patient. There will be many cases of follicular murder. The sad part is that there are so many donors in the back of someone’s head. However, this is not very important during the pre-consultation. Again the focus is entirely on terrible photos of poorly executed FUT operations.
There are a few reasons why one would opt for an extremely expensive FUE technique. If a patient has had multiple previous hair operations and suffers from bad scars, it may work to fill the hair in the scar areas. The idea here is that there is not enough elasticity left in the donor area to extract another linear scar. So the FUE method would be used to correct these scars. However, this would be a very small procedure. Probably a maximum of 300 hair grafts.
Another reason why a person can opt for a FUE is their desire to shave their heads and not have a linear scar. I actually don’t get this. Why pay to let the hair move around your head and then shave it? I thought the whole idea was to be able to style and wear your hair in fashion. If you are going to wear the bald look, why a hair transplant?
And if your FUT operation is performed correctly, the scar line will be so thin that not much hair is needed to cover it. You should be able to use a number 2 blade and cut the hair extremely low.
The actual costs for the FUE can be quite high. A few procedures and you look at 35 – 50,000. I have heard stories that the number is closer to 100,000. All because people are willing to pay for something that they think is new and better. It is a fact that they are paying again for the very old “hair plug” operation. However, they pay much more for it! Make sure you do your research Best Hair Transplant in Lahore. If you take the time to properly examine, choose the right doctor and get the right result. You maximize your donor and experience minimal scars and minimal discomfort.
